Saulo is a young entrepreneur who sells radio sets in 1950s Rio. During one of his working trips, he meets Verônica, an announcer working for a small town radio station. Charmed by the girl’s voice, the young man is also bewildered by her beauty. The madly in love visionary Saulo reveals to her his intention of producing a television telenovela and guarantees that by staying at his side Verônica will see one of her biggest dreams come true by becoming a great actress.

Ten years later Saulo and Verônica are married and live in Rio de Janeiro. He now owns a radio station and she is a well-known actress. Everything seems just perfect. The only problem is that Verônica still has another dream Saulo will never be able to fulfill: her desire to be a mother. When they find out he can’t have children, their love is put to the test for the very first time.
