Doc Martin

8.3 /10
Doc Martin ( Orig. Title ) Comedy, Drama, Romance 61 Episodes 2004
At IMDB, Dr. Martin garnered huge sympathies from critics and audiences where he was rated with a high 8.3 rating. A sarcastic and egocentric doctor of a difficult nature comes to work in an idyllic quiet town. In the first season, in 2004, the series won the award for the best British TV comedy-drama. The main character, Dr. Martin interrupts his brilliant career as a cardiac surgeon in London, moves to a small seaside village in Cronwell where he came to his aunt as a child during the summer holidays, and now begins working as a general practitioner. Martin is an extremely cold and tough man, he is clumsy with people, direct and a bit grumpy, and the focus of the series is actually his communication and relationship with patients and villagers. It will not be difficult for him to gain the trust of the locals and everything seems like a real idyll. However, his situation begins to get complicated when he slowly reveals his true nature to those around him... A new environment, a new house, a new job, new people, but soon a new love happens to him... Critics and viewers agreed that this series is like therapy after a hard day and a great refuge if you do not prefer aggressive TV content.
