Varvarin

In the regional division of the territory of Serbia, Varvarin belongs to the Rasina district. Human communities were formed here in the ancient times of the Starcevo culture. We conclude about the manner of burial on the basis of the necropolis that was discovered in the village of Obrez. Much later, in 1810, on the barbarian field, a famous battle took place between Karadjordje and the Russian army on the one hand, and the Turkish army, which Kurshid Pasha started from the south and went to Serbia. The Serbian army was led by Stanoje Glavas, and the Russian army by Count Orurk. The Serbian army won.
