The White Lions

“The White Lions" is a story about people, intellectuals who find it very hard to live in these difficult times, so they are forced to do jobs they normally wouldn’t do. Dile, the main protagonist of this story, pressed by dreams of a better life, whose factory went bankrupt, decides to take matters into his own hands. Challenged by stories of workers, peasants and honest intelligent people that have no one to lead them to a better life, Dile holds a fiery speech and calls for revolution. “Serbia is tired of the bad news and something needs to change. We have long been living in capitalism, only the people have not yet been informed. That is why April is the time when we will begin to fight for ourselves. Just as white lions are an endangered animal species, so are we an endangered human species." This is a satirical drama that tells a story of social differences in contemporary Serbia and shows that a man who has nothing to lose is capable to do anything.
