The Cordon

During the strongest dictatorship of the Milosevic regime, civil protests shake and destabilize the country and the regime for four months. "The Cordon" follows a group of Belgrade police officers who patrol the city and beat demonstrators during the 1996/1997 protests. Their personal tragedies and moral dilemmas overlap with the hate of the people and the fate of one devastating political project. The six police officers on duty, tired of intense action, completely exhausted by all the happenings and frequent clashes with the protesters, are surviving the longest and most critical night. That moment when the protests reach the boiling point, the police apprehend the cameraman Aca, who is left without an eye, while the commander of the police is left without authority. Revoke by those who are in charge, at the most critical moment, police officers are retreating... and then the deepest human moments arise.
