Merošina

Merosina is located in the southeastern part of Serbia, and in terms of its strategic position, it is 230 km away from Belgrade, 220 km from Skopje, and 160 km from Sofia. Due to its extremely convenient position, in the Roman period there was a crossroads of the most important road routes that connected large and important Roman cities. During Byzantium, a caravan road to Dubrovnik passed through this area. When we talk about the modern period, after World War I, Merosina continues its rapid development, which is accelerated by the passage of the modern road Nis - Prokuplje. At that time, important public facilities were built, industrial plants were opened and Oblacinsko Lake was arranged.
