Krupanj ( Orig. Title ) Documentary 0 h 28 Min 2011
Krupanj is located in Western Serbia and belongs to the Macvan district. Significant archeological finds of this place date back to the Neolithic period, in the form of pottery remains and an ax made of light white stone. The name Krupanj first appears in Dubrovnik writings in 1417, and the Italians most often referred to it as "Crupagn". Later, one of the bloodiest battles ever fought by the Serbian army in the First World War was related to this area. It is noted in the military history that the fiercest battles were fought there, in which Prince Djordje Karadjordjevic was also wounded, and the total Serbian and enemy losses are estimated at about 23,000 people.
