Bosilegrad

Bosilegrad borders Surdulica in the north, Vranje in the west, Trgoviste in the southwest, New Macedonia in the south, and Bulgaria in the east and southeast. The largest mountain peak is the mountain Besna Kobila with 1922 meters above sea level. The oldest tribe that lived in this area is the Poenci tribe, who lived between Struma and Vardar around 506 BC. This area was first inhabited by Bulgarians in 809, when Sofia was occupied by Han Krum.
