Blace

Blace is a crossroads for Kosovo and Metohija, Kopaonik, Krusevac and Prokuplje. There is a famous legend that Princess Milica accompanied the Prince Lazar to the battle of Kosovo (1389), but in Blace he threw his treasure into Lake Blace. Lazar's treasure was never found, nor does anyone know where it is, but a mysterious story remains that it is still hidden in the Toplica area, somewhere around Blace. In the 12th century, the great Serbian leader Stefan Nemanja gathered tribes somewhere in this area and created the foundations for one of the strongest states in the Middle Ages. In 1921, Blace was officially declared a town.
