Babušnica

The municipality of Babusnica is part of the Pirot district. It is surrounded by the municipalities of Pirot and Bela Palanka from the north, the Bulgarian border from the east, the municipalities of Vlasotince and Crnotravska from the south, and the municipality of Gadzihan from the west. According to the legend, the mountain Stol was leveled because Marko Kraljevic once stood on that mountain and threw a stone even on another mountain. Archaeological findings show that this area was inhabited in ancient times, and the remains of Roman fortifications and roads testify that there were several settlements here during the Roman rule.
