Mionica

The famous Živojin Mišić was born here, the man who took command of the First Army in Mionica, stopped the disintegration of the Serbian army and started the victorious Battle of Kolubara. Mionica is one of the most important administrative and political centers of the Valjevo region. Here are found the oldest human traces in the area of ​​western Serbia, which are related to the Middle Paleolithic era, which corresponds to the time of 80,000-40,000 years of age. Later legend says that Mionica was called Tuvari in the Middle Ages, and that Prince Lazar called this place Mali Srem, because he was generously welcomed by the people there, and he was also amazed by the beauty of this area.
