Bojnik

The municipality of Bojnik is one of the least developed municipalities in the Republic of Serbia. It is located in the Pusta river basin and below the Radan mountain. There is a legend that there was once one of the most terrible battles in history in that place, hence the name Bojnik. The most important landmark is the monument to the victims of World War II and to the fighters of the 1st South Moravian Brigade and the Jablanica Partisan Detachment. Also, on February 17, 1942, about 500 inhabitants were shot in this place, which made up over 90% of the population at that time.
